Product Overview
Bone Screws with diameters of 3.0mm have a self-drilling and self-tapping tip and do not require predrilling. The two-diameter geometry ensures balanced stresses on the two cortices. They are available in lengths of 60mm, 80mm and 100mm.
When the Bone Screw is inserted, the self-drilling tip creates a hole the size of the smaller diameter. The first self-tapping section of the screw taps and removes the bone facilitating the insertion of the smaller diameter part of the screw into the bone. The second set of self-tapping threads facilitates the larger diameter threads to enter into the cortex. The larger diameter is inserted revising any ovalization caused by the smaller diameter section of the screw. (http://www.amdtholdings.com)
