Product Overview

Replicate Natural Kinematics
Single radius in gait combined with spherical condyles provide consistent stability through high range of motion

Designed to mimic normal knee kinematics, the femoral geometry of the APEX Knee is able to provide consistent articulation and even stress distribution through the full range of motion. A single radius is utilized in normal gait, ensuring a natural initial motion. Spherical posterior condyles provide superior mid-stance stability, and keep the knee construct well positioned into deep flexion.

Engineered to Last
Implants designed to limit wear via articular congruency and even stress distribution.

One of the major problems with implant design is the stress of everyday wear & tear. To avoid wear of the APEX Knee articulating surfaces, the femoral component is always matched 1-to-1 with the tibial insert, regardless of implant size. This congruency ensures even stress distribution, which is critical to the survivorship of the construct.

The patella is also matched to the patella groove, creating a smooth articulation, while limiting stress.

Designed to Fit
Intermediate sizes give surgeons the option to adjust implant fit without additional steps.

The asymmetry (separate left and right configurations) of both the femoral and tibial components is the result of a highly detailed intra-operative anthropomorphic study. Matching the left and right implant geometry to patient anatomy provides the best possible component fit and stability.

“Plus” sizes are available in the femoral components. These unique femoral components allow the use of standard size box cuts. Thus, without re-cutting the femur, the surgeon has the option to intraoperatively change femoral component sizes to a plus size component with a thinner anterior flange and larger A/P to M/L size ratio to address potential differences in male and female anatomy.

OMNIBotic™ Surgery Provides Increased Accuracy
Real time computer feedback paired with robotic cutting guide increases accuracy and confidence.

OMNIBotics is robotic-assisted computer system utilizing patented OMNIBotics Bone Morphing™ software with a robotic cutting guide in order to provide surgeons with incredible accuracy over conventional instrumentation.

Excellent Patella Tracking
Advanced patella geometry is designed to track without interruption.

The APEX femoral component is built with a deep, wide patella groove that allows the patella to track naturally without interruption. The widened 6° patella track allows the patella to track freely without the need for any additional resection.

The domed patella sits deep into the track, helping to reduce stress on the extensor mechanism. To optimize the surgical protocol, patella post locations are the same across all sizes of patellae.

Tibial Inserts Allow Variety of Options
Conforming inserts available in both Cruciate Retaining and Cruciate Sacrificing options

Tibial inserts are provided in cruciate retaining ("Congruent") and cruciate substituting ("Ultra Congruent") configurations.

Ultra inserts have a deep dish configuration to provide maximum conformity and stability throughout flexion without the need for bone sacrificing post and cam mechanisms associated with other posterior stabilized designs.

Both inserts are offered in several incremental thicknesses to permit precise soft tissue balancing, with 1mm increments in the commonly used smaller thicknesses. (http://www.omnils.com/index.cfm)
