OrthoAxis - Product

Product Overview

Matrix OI® is a Stem Cell Containment® human scaffold that is processed using CellRight's proprietary BioRinse™ technology. All Matrix OI® products are verified for osteoinductivity post-sterilization prior to release for distribution. In-vivo test results demonstrate all 5 bone-forming elements present (chondrocytes, osteocytes, bone marrow cells, cartilage, and new bone) in our implants. The product's revolutionary design uses Geometric Compression™ that minimizes the use of fixation devices that support graft placement. The product's pliable handling characteristics facilitate minimally invasive patient and surgeon preferred surgical procedures. Micro-CT scans of this human scaffold exhibit a well-interconnected matrix that preserves the infrastructure of the graft to maximize intra-cellular growth for bone repair.

Matrix OI® is the ideal delivery vehicle, and may be used in conjunction with antibiotics, bone marrow aspirates (BMA), platelet rich plasma (PRP), and other cellular components in accordance with the physician's well-informed medical judgment. Matrix OI® is available in various shapes and sizes including a particulate version for use in non-structural bone grafting procedures. Matrix OI® can be placed in spinal defects, and used to pack posterolateral gutters in lumbar fusions.

The grafts are freeze-dried and sterilized using low-dose, low-temperature gamma irradiation to achieve a sterility assurance level (SAL) of 10-6. The grafts should be stored in ambient temperatures (59-86° F or 15-30° C) and have a shelf-life of up to 5 years from the date of packaging. (http://www.cellrighttechnologies.com/index.html)
