EPICAL™ is an innovative, patented, bioactive calcium-containing surface. Calcium is incorporated into the titanium implant’s natural oxide layer at the nano level, so the implant’s original surface and dimensioning remain unchanged. Eliminates the risk of flaking, as it is not a coating.
The EPICAL™ method was developed through long-term research and development cooperation with the German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Berlin, and received the “Germany – Nation of Ideas” innovation award in 2009.
