Product Overview
• SHORTENED OPERATIVE TIME
Average time using the NBX® Shoulder fixator is less than 1 hour versus an average of 2-3 hours for conventional ORIF using a plate and screws, significantly reducing costs associated with OR time.
• MINIMALLY INVASIVE TECHNIQUE
There is no dissection; fixation is based on the long standing and accepted method of percutaneous placement of threaded half-pins held in place by the NBX® Shoulder fixator.
• EXTERNAL LOCKING PLATE DESIGN
The locking nut and ball assembly allows the fixation pins to be placed up to 30 degrees in any direction, securing each fixation pin to the NBX® Shoulder frame above the skin, locking the depth and angle of insertion of each pin while also securing the fracture fragments and shaft of the humerus.
• NON-BRIDGING FIXATION
The fracture complex is pinned and stabilized in anatomic position without crossing the shoulder joint, thus allowing early passive and active range of motion of the shoulder.
• EARLY RETURN TO FUNCTION
Patients can begin a passive range of motion within the first 7-10 days after surgery and start active motion therapy by the second week.
• MULTI-MATRIX® PIN TECHNOLOGY
The NBX® Shoulder fixator locks a matrix of multi-planar and multi-directional threaded fixation pins which is biomechanically superior to other forms of fixation as proven by extensive biomechanical studies.
